This course has been designed as a general introduction to film and has condensed the learning into a practical 15-week full time course.


Certificate II in Creative Industries

Feature Film Attachment Program*, offered through

Sydney Film Studios / Breathless Films


Taught and supervised by leading industry practitioners, this hands-on intensive course serves as an introduction to the key craft areas involved in making a film. Students will learn, develop and apply film industry skills to

·      understand production protocol

·      develop a design brief

·      operate professional video cameras

·      operate professional sound recording equipment

·      use camera lighting

·      shoot a film in production teams

·      use professional digital video editing software

·      use professional sound design software


As part of this new offering every student will be required to undertake a 3-8 week attachment on a feature film in any one of the following departments: production; camera; sound; design; post-production.

Students will learn, develop and apply film industry skills from pitching initial ideas and understanding production protocols, to casting actors and evolving a design brief, to operating professional video cameras and sound recording equipment, using camera lighting, shooting the film in production teams, all the way through to the post-production phase of digital video editing, sound design, grading, titles and credits.


No prior experience in film needed.
